Spain - Costa Calida to Costa Blanca

We walked up to the church but it was still closed at 3pm. Castalla is an old fortress town known as "Castra Alta' in Roman times. During the Moorish occupation there was a fortified castle on the hill but King Jaime I took possession of it after the conquest of Biar and rebuilt it. The first church was built here in the 13th century but what we see today is much newer.
